Hawaii Self-Storage Scholarship
This is a reminder that documents for the Hawaii Self-Storage Scholarship is due to Ms. Ishida by 3:00 pm on February 14th. The top five applications will be selected and sent to the scholarship committee for review. You still have time to apply! Come by the College and Career Center to pick up an application form!

Hawaii Tokai International College
Hawaii Tokai International College will be visiting the College and Career Center on Wednesday, February 12th during Period 3.Hawaii Tokai International College is an accredited two-year junior college that offers an Associates of Arts degree in Liberal Arts. Students will meet and learn to converse with students from around the world while also earning their two-year transferable degree. Sign up in the College and Career Center. - A. Ishida

Shop for Higher Education
It's that time again!  The annual Foodland Shop or Higher Education Program is HERE!  Beginning February 5 through March 18, when you go to any Foodland or Sack 'n' Save, register your Maika'i card under Moanalua High School.  Then, every time you shop at either store, Moanalua will earn points good towards scholarships.  You can start registering NOW!  We usually earn one scholarship, but if Moanalua finishes in the top 20, we earn an additional scholarship.  The higher we place, the more scholarships we earn.  Moanalua usually finishes in 35th or 36th place.  Let's try to finish in the top 20 this year!- S. Valentine Dance
Tickets to the 2014 Valentine Day Dance are on sale this week @ lunch in P 11A.  You must bring your signed permission form to the PEP room to purchase your ticket.  Tickets are $8.00.  Additional permission forms can also be picked up @ P 11A.- W. Botelho- W. Botelho


WEAR RED Day
Friday, February 14 is WEAR RED Day.  If your Period 4 class has the highest percentage of students wearing red, your class wins a prize!  In order to be counted, you must be wearing at least 50% red meaning your entire shirt, entire pants or skirt, or aloha or mixed print with majority red.  You will not be counted if you are wearing only red socks, shoes or have only a red accessory such as a hair band.- S. FCCLA Fun Week Activities
 Everything is coming up roses. Celebrate everyday of FCCLA week this week with us by making chocolate clay roses in F202 . Come at lunch  to  learn the art of making edible chocolate roses! Learn this fast and easy sculpture to impress your friends and family.  The daily DIY-Do it yourself lunch activities are open to all students and staff.  Today  will also have the CTSO Culinary Students demonstrate knife skills to start off the week. Watch and learn so you too can impress other with some cutting terms!

Summer Engineering Programs
Honolulu Community College and University of Hawaii at Manoa are offering summer robotics and engineering internship opportunities for students in grades 9 through 12. You will gain hands-on experience in state-of-the-art engineering research facilities, interact with university faculty and students, and explore the engineering industry more in depth. Participating in a summer internship program can greatly set you apart from other applicants when applying to engineering programs as a senior. Sophomores!!!  You'll only be sophomores for a few more months... so it's time to choose next year's JUNIOR class council!!  Nominations forms are out, so don't forget to get them signed by your parents and teachers.  The due date is Friday, Feb 14th by 3:00pm... Class of 2016 Canned Food Competition!
Attention sophomores! Join the canned food drive competition from Jan.30-March 5.  For every 5 cans you donate, your name will get entered into a raffle for one free Junior Prom Bid.  Money donations are also welcome! $.50 = 1 can/point. Each can is 1 service point.  Please drop off your canned goods or monetary donations to your HR/CAP teacher! Lets go sophomores!  - M. Chiu
